A little about us.
Dr. Marguerite Duncan, BSc, DDS, MSc, FRCD(C)
My name is Dr. Marguerite Duncan. I love smiles. I believe in the impact that the ability to smile with warmth and confidence can have on one's overall well-being. As an Orthodontist (dental specialist), I have dedicated my career to transforming smiles, encouraging self-confidence, and enhancing oral health.
I have been practicing dentistry in Edmonton for eleven years. In 2004 I graduated with my DDS Degree from Dalhousie University and moved to Edmonton from Nova Scotia to attend post graduate training in general practice at the University of Alberta Hospital. After a few years in family dental practice, I returned to to the University of Alberta for 3 more years of post-graduate training to become a specialist in Orthodontics. I have been a Specialist in Orthodontics in Alberta since 2010.
I am a wife and a mother, in addition to a professional with a career to tend. I know the challenges that adults face in coordinating and providing for all of the needs of their families as well as themselves. Balancing work and responsibilities, while making time for rest and rejuvenation is merely a dream for most of us. Where I wish to help is by providing service to you in the most efficient and reliable manner possible, ensuring you are fully equipped with the knowledge and tools to make informed choices appropriate for you.
Thank you for taking a moment to get to know me. I very much look forward to getting to know you!
Dr. Cecilia Ponce, BSc, DDS, Dip, MSc, FRCD(C)
My name is Dr. Cecilia Ponce, and I am thrilled to have been invited to join Simply Orthodontics and a team that represents everything I believe in - from high-quality orthodontic care and personalized treatment, to open communication throughout the treatment.
I enjoy the long-term relationships I get to build with my patients and their families during their orthodontic visits. A beautiful smile is life-changing and it is a tremendously gratifying experience to help someone improve their confidence and quality of life in ways they may have not thought were possible!
I was born in Lima, Peru, where I watched my father’s career as a dentist and knew from a young age that I was destined to be an oral healthcare provider! I graduated with my DDS (Dentist) degree from San Martin de Porres University in 2001 and later specialized in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in Peru. In 2013, after many years of both caring for patients and teaching students in Peru, I moved to the United States to further train in Craniofacial Biology and Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky.
Some might call me a lifetime student, as I then went on to earn my second degree in Orthodontics, completing the three-year Master’s in Orthodontics program at the University of Alberta, where I first met Dr. Duncan. I love to share my knowledge and have continued with the U of A as a clinical instructor in Dentistry in the field of Orthodontics.
Aside from orthodontics, I practice meditation to recharge my mind and body. I also love traveling, exploring new places around the globe, trying out new restaurants and going to the movies with my husband, Enrique.
I would love to meet you and have the opportunity to help you and/or your child achieve a beautiful smile.
